MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Cristiano Ronaldo is once again being linked with a move away from Real Madrid, with reports going as far as claiming that this could very well be his final season with the Spanish champions.
According to the Sun, Ronaldo could be heading back to Manchester United, but only if he’s feasible.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has constantly stated that the door is always open to the Portugal international, adding that it would be a “dream” to bring him back to Old Trafford.
Reports are saying that Ronaldo, although seems happy at Madrid, is growing unsettled at the Bernabeu, and is looking for a way out.
He had a social meeting with Ferguson when Real Madrid visited Manchester to face Manchester City in the Champions League a week ago, although the two denied their meeting was more than just to catch-up.
It is widely being reported that Ronaldo is looking for a new and improved contract from the Spanish giants, who remain reluctant to answer his demands.
That has left the 27-year-old more frustrated than ever and he’s now less inspired than when he made his £80m move from Old Trafford almost four-years-ago.
Ronaldo, sources say also believes he will continue to find it difficult to win the Ballon d’Or again if he stays in Spain and get overshadowed by Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.
But he could be forced to stay with the Whites, as Real Madrid are not prepared to let the speedy winger leave for anything less than £100m, something United isn’t willing to pay for a player close to 30.
Ronaldo has admitted to missing life with the Barclays Premier League side, stating that he follows Manchester United games at all times.
