Dallas Mavericks (17-23) beat Houston Rockets (21-19); 105-100

DALLAS (Sporting Alert) – Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 points and eight rebounds to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 105-100 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

The win saw the Mavericks extended its win streak to four games, their best run of the season so far.

Shawn Marion and O.J. Mayo both finished with 18 points in the win for Dallas (17-23).

Mayo also had eight assists, six rebounds and two steals to his stats and Marion also added nine rebounds to his name.

James Harden struggled from the field tonight, shooting just 5-of-23 from the field, but still managed to end with 20 points to lead the Houston Rockets (21-19).

Harden, who went 1-of-8 from 3-point range, also collected eight boards and seven assists, while Jeremy Lin finished with 19 points in the defeat.

The Rockets struggled with turnovers throughout the second half action, which led to the Mavericks building a solid lead.

Lin and Harden managed to pull the Rockets even with 1:52 left.

In fact, Lin scored 10 points during that period on a 12-2 run to cut the deficit, but poor finishing down the stretch cost the visitors, who have now dropped their last five games.
