David Villa Starts With Messi: Barcelona vs Cordoba Starting Teams

CORDOBA (Sporting Alert) — David Villa has been named in Barcelona starting line-up for tonight’s Copa del Rey clash with Cordoba on the road at El Arcángel.

Villa will start as a member of another strong Barcelona attack, which also includes Lionel Messi, who will look to extend his goalscoring record for the year.

Starting with Messi and Villa also is Pedro, who again will play down the left side and is expected to be a handful for the Cordoba defenders with his pace.

Xavi, Alex Song and Thiago will operate in midfield, while the back line is made up of Dani Alves, Piqué, Mascherano and Jordi Alba.

Jose Pinto starts in goal tonight with Víctor Valdes not included in the side altogether.

Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Busquets, Carles Puyol, Jonathan dos Santos and Cristian Tello are all amongst the subs, but there was no Andrés Iniesta or the injured Cesc Fabregas.
