DALLAS, Texas —— We saw another highlighted performance on Thursday from All-Star guard Luka Doncic, who recorded his eighth triple-double of the season as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Houston Rockets 129-114 at American Airlines Center here in Texas.
Doncic, who is coming off an NBA history-making performance with 60-21-10 against the New York Knicks two nights earlier, finished the game against the Rockets with 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists, while Christian Wood scored 12 of his 21 points in the third quarter for the Mavericks, who collected a fifth successive win after losing three of four games before this winning streak.
Dwight Powell had 19 points on a perfect 8 of 8 shooting with six rebounds and two blocks and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 18 points for Dallas ((20-16). Read more: Latest NBA results, summary; winners and loser on December 28

Jalen Green led the Rockets with 23 points and Kevin Porter Jr. had 17 points and seven assists. Jabari Smith Jr. scored 14 points in the first quarter, but finished with just 16 for the game for Houston (10-25) who fell to 4-15 on the road this season.
As a team, the Mavericks shot 51.6% overall and held a 25-5 advantage in fast-break points. Dallas, which improved to 15-5 at home this term led 66-50 at halftime.
The Rockets, who have dropped seven of eight games, shot 44.2% from the field.
