MUNICH (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko could be on his way to Germany to play for Bayern Munich, if reports from the German press are correct.
German broadcaster Sport1 is reporting that Dzeko and Bayern have agreed personal terms, although a transfer fee with his Barclays Premier League club Manchester City has not yet been accepted.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international – who had been on the hit list of several clubs, including Manchester United in the past – decided to make the move from Wolfsburg to Manchester City in 2010 with high hopes, but struggled to hit the back of the net in his first term.
He, however, started brightly last season and ended the campaign with 14 goals, despite falling out of favour with manager Roberto Mancini in the later part of the season.
It had been reported recently that Manchester City were looking to offload the 26-year-old, with Bayern apparently ready to offer €20 million for him to make a return to the Bundesliga.
There have been several rumours linking Dzeko with a move away from Eastlands, but his agent has squash the talks.
