BARCELONA (Sporting Alert) — Neymar scored in his first El Clasico appearance to help Barcelona beat Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga at Camp Nou on Saturday.

Barcelona picked up a 2-1 victory and moved six points clear at the top of the points standings to put some space between themselves and their arch rivals.
Neymar put the hosts in the lead in the 19th minute when he scored from a deflected shot off Dani Carvajal that beat Diego Lopez and went into the bottom corner of the net, following a good run from midfielder Andres Iniesta.
Substitute Alexis Sanchez scored the second goal for Barcelona in the second half.
The Chile forward cleverly lobbed over the head of the advancing Lopez after being put through on goal by Neymar.
Twenty-year-old Jese pulled a goal back for Real Madrid in stoppage time, but that came a little too take as time expired on the visitors.
Also featuring in the game was record summer recruit Gareth Bale, who got the starting nod over Karim Benzema, but was unable to stop his team from going down.
