PHILADELPHIA —— The Philadelphia 76ers dominated the Detroit Pistons in their recent matchup at the Wells Fargo Center, securing a 147-116 victory. Leading the charge for the 76ers was Joel Embiid, who had a strong performance with 36 points and 11 rebounds.
Embiid was returning from a three-game absence due to a sore left foot and made a solid comeback, shooting 12-20 from the field and making all 11 of his free throws. Read more: Curry starts: Warriors vs Suns lineup and how to watch on TNT
Joining Embiid in the scoring effort was James Harden, who recorded his second straight triple-double with 16 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds.
Harden’s triple-double came in the third quarter and he currently leads the NBA with five games of at least 15 assists, which is the most for any 76er since Mo Cheeks had five in the 1987-88 season.
Other notable performances for the Sixers (11-33) included Tyrese Maxey with 16 points, Tobias Harris who was 6-6 from the field and 2-2 from 3-point range with seven rebounds, Shake Milton with 11 points and seven assists, and Jaden Springer with 10 points.
For the Pistons (11-33), Saddiq Bey, Jaden Ivey, and Rodney McGruder each scored 17 points.
Alec Burks had 16 points, Hamidou Diallo had 14 points and 8 rebounds, and Kevin Knox II ended with 13 points in the loss.
The Pistons will look to bounce back as they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, while the 76ers will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night.
