English Premier League standings on Week 15: Dec. 12

Chelsea Continue To Lead EPL Standings

LONDON, Sporting Alert – English Premier League standings on Monday, December 12, following the games that took place this weekend.

Chelsea remain atop the EPL standings after 15 rounds of games on 37 points, three more than Arsenal, while West Ham United climbed out of the bottom with a 2-2 draw at Liverpool.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea team heads into the busy Christmas fixtures with a confident advantage over its fellow title rivals and also has a positive 22 goal difference.

The Blues picked up their ninth clean sheet this season with a 1-0 win over West Brom to extend their run of consecutive wins to nine games.

Arsenal, who led the EPL standings after Saturday’s matches, are second with 34 points and can’t be overlooked heading into the holiday festivities.

Liverpool stayed third with 31, but lose ground on the leaders after being held by West Ham, following some pitiful goalkeeping by both goalkeepers.

Manchester City, the bookmarkers’ preseason favourites to win the title also fell further behind the top two teams after losing 4-2 Leicester City on Saturday.

The Citizens are sitting fourth with 30 points.

Rounding out the top five is Tottenham with 27 points and it didn’t move from its bedtime position after losing to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Manchester United with 24 points, Watford (21), West Brom (20), Everton (20) and Southampton (20) complete the top 10.

Next come Stoke City (19), Bournemouth (18), Burnley (17), Leicester City (16) and Crystal Palace (15) in the top 15.

The last five are round out by Middlesbrough (15), West Ham (13), Swansea City (12), Hull City (12) and Sunderland (11).

The Swans, Tigers and Black Cats are the teams in an early relegation fight in the updated EPL standings, but they have more than half of a season to get it right.
