English Premier League Scores And Fixtures On April 7

LONDON — English Premier League scores and upcoming fixtures on Saturday, April 7, as a certain club rallied for a big-time win in the Manchester derby this weekend.

Runaway leaders Manchester City were forced to delay celebrating the league title today after a brace from Paul Pogba helped arch-rivals Manchester United rallied from a two-goal deficit to stun the Citizens 3-2 at Etihad Stadium.

Goals by Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan in the 25th and 31st minutes gave Manchester City a 2-0 lead at halftime, and the home side could have even been up by five goals, had Raheem Sterling and even Gundogan finished off their chances.

Those missed chances came back to haunt Pep Guardiola’s side as Jose Mourinho’s halftime speech inspired the Red Devils to a remarkable comeback victory in front of former manager Alex Ferguson, who sat disturbed in the stands during the first half.

Pogba cut the deficit to one goal in the 53rd minute before knotting the scores at 2-2 two-minutes later with a skillful header.

Centre-back Chris Smalling completed the comeback in the 69th minute – finishing well after being left unmarked inside the box.

Alexis Sanchez ended the game with two assists.

Newcastle United, Burnley and Tottenham all secured 2-1 victories.

Harry Kane scored the winner and Christian Eriksen provided the early blew for Tottenham to beat Stoke City 2-1 with Mame Diouf scoring for the home side.

Jonjo Shelvey and Ayoze Pérez were on target for Newcastle United in the 2-1 win over Leicester City, while Burnley defeated Watford by a similar score, courtesy of goals from Sam Vokes and Jack Cork.

Watford went ahead just after the hour mark with a goal from Roberto Pereyra, but the visitors netted twice in three minutes to seal the three points.

Elsewhere in English Premier League scores on Saturday, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace finished 2-2, Brighton & Hove Albion tied 1-1 with Huddersfield Town, while Everton held the free-scoring Liverpool goalless at Goodison Park.

In another game, red zone West Bromwich Albion, a side almost certain to be relegated this season, finished 1-1 with Swansea City.
