English Premier League Standings, Scores On Nov. 1

LONDON, Sporting Alert – Updated English Premier League standings and scores, following the Week 11 games that took place in the league on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Manchester City continue to lead the Premier League standings after holding out for a 2-1 victory over 10-man Norwich City on Sunday.

A late Yaya Toure penalty kick in the 89th minute pushed the Citizens to the victory, as they moved to 25 points in the table.

Nicolas Otamendi headed Manchester City into the lead in the 67th minute, but Cameron Jerome bagged an unlikely equaliser in the 83rd minute for the visitors.

Canaries captain Russell Martin was sent off for blocking a Raheem Sterling shot with his arm in the 88th minute.

Meanwhile, despite their injury problems, Arsenal stayed within touching distance of the leaders with an easy 3-0 win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Second half goals from Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Joel Campbell piloted the Gunners to victory as they also moved to 25 points and only trail Manchester City in the EPL standings on goal difference.

Leicester City are now up to third in the Premier League standings, following a thrilling 3-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Riyad Mahrez netted twice and Jamie Vardy continued his fine goalscoring form this season with another excellent strike to help the Foxes leaped over Manchester United and into Champions League spots with 22 points.

Leicester City have now won six games already this season.

Manchester United and Wayne Rooney’s goal-scoring drought continued on Saturday as the Red Devils could only manage a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

Louis van Gaal’s side has only scored 15 goals thus far in the EPL this season – the lowest of all the top six sides.

The Red Devils have been taunted as a boring side under Van Gaal this term, while the manager’s stubbornest to play Wayne Rooney as a center forward and leaving Anthony Martial wide left on the flank isn’t sitting too well with the fans.

Nevertheless Manchester United are still in the top four on 21 points, but could lose ground very quickly if the boss doesn’t fix things soon.

Liverpool piled on further problems on Jose Mourinho and his Chelsea side after the Reds went to Stamford Bridge and thrashed the home side 3-1.

The defending champions have now lost six games this season and are 15th in the league with 11 points.

Ramires gave the hosts the lead in fourth minute, but a brace from Philippe Coutinho and another goal from Christian Benteke seven minutes from time sealed the win for Liverpool who are on 17 points and sit eighth in the league.

The battle in the battle continues with Newcastle United, seven points, Sunderland, six points and Aston Villa, fourth points.

Sunderland were battered 6-2 by Everton on Sunday.

Tottenham and Aston Villa will play on Monday.
