LONDON, Sporting Alert – EPL standings after the matches that took place this past weekend on November 28-29.

Manchester City took advantage of Leicester City and Manchester United 1-1 draw in their head-to-head battle by returning to the top of the EPL standings.

The Citizens easily put away Southampton 3-1 in their fixture on Saturday to move to 29 points.

The men from the blue half of Manchester are on the same amount of points as overnight leaders Leicester City which sit second on the table standings.

Manchester United might be third in the standings on 28 points, but the supporters and a healthy list of the club’s former players are not too impressed by the way the team is playing and have been criticizing manager Louis van Gaal heavily.

Rounding off the top four and the Champions League spot is Arsenal, and they are on 26 points.

Tottenham Hotspur stayed in touching distance in fifth place, despite not beating Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Spurs are on 24pts, two more than Crystal Palace, sixth on 22pts, with Everton, West Ham United, Southampton and Liverpool rounding out the top 10.

Resting in the bottom half of the table are the defending champions Chelsea, following their 0-0 tie with Tottenham.

The Blues are in 15th places and are still trying to figure out what they need to do to get the season back on track.

Jose Mourinho stated that he was happy with the way the team played on Sunday, even though they did not win, but the fans are starting to become a little worried, given that the reigning champs have now fallen behind the leaders by double-digit points.

Holding up the EPL standings after the Week 14 are Aston Villa after another dismal performance on Saturday when they fell 3-2 at home to Watford.

Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth are the other two teams in the relegation zone.
