(Sporting Alert) — Manchester United forward Robin van Persie continues to lead the English Premier League – EPL – in scoring heading into the next round of games this weekend.
The Holland international has been red-hot since his move from Arsenal in the summer and has been coming to rescue of Manchester United several times in the both EPL and the cup games.
Van Persie leads all scorers in the league with 16 goals, following his brace on New Year’s Day in the 4-0 win over Wigan.
Luis Suarez of Liverpool has also been on good form so far this season the Uruguay international improved to 15 goals in the Premier League with two against Sunderland.
Demba Ba, who has now a Chelsea transfer, netted 13 while wearing the uniform of Newcastle United and he’s currently at third.
But given the form his showed in the English FA Cup over the weekend, there is no doubt he’ll be banging in more goals in the Chelsea FC jersey.
Swansea City and perhaps the transfer of the season so far, Michu, also has 13 goals in the EPL.
10 Jermain Defoe of Tottenham Hotspur has 10 goals, while Edin Dzeko (Manchester City) and Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur) both netted nine already on the season
