NCAA College Football Power Rankings On Nov. 2

TULSA, Okla., Sporting Alert - Clemson is now the new No. 1 team in the ESPN NCAA College Football Power Rankings, released on Sunday, Nov. 1.

The Tigers (8-0) have been very impressive so far this season, but their one place move to the top in Week 10 was somewhat of a surprise, given that they have played much better than they did at the weekend.

Clemson wasn't really at its best on Saturday, but picked up a 56-41 win at NC State.

With that result, the Atlantic Coast Conference - Atlantic leaders collected 312 points and moved above Ohio State, which falls from the top spot after being inactive over the weekend.

The Buckeyes (8-0) collected 307 points to sit at No. 2 this week.

The defending champions, although would be disappointed at being replaced at the top in the ESPN Power Rankings, despite sitting No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches Top 25 Polls, will be keeping a closer eye on Tuesday first College Football Playoff rankings.

LSU (7-0) stays No. 3 in the power rankings after getting 300 points, with Baylor (7-0) at No. 4, TCU (8-0) at No. 5 and Michigan State (8-0) at No. 6. These places were unchanged this week.

Alabama (7-1) moved up one spot to No. 7, while Florida (7-1) also jumped two spots to No. 8 and Notre Dame (7-1) remained No. 9.

However, Stanford (7-1) dropped three spots to No. 10, after holding out for a 30-28 victory over Washington State at the weekend.

The Cardinal needed a Conrad Ukropina's 19-yard field goal with 1:54 left to take the win.

Moving the biggest this week was Texas A&M.

The Aggies returned to this week's ESPN NCAA College Football Power Rankings after securing a 35-28 victory over South Carolina, with freshman QB Kyler Murray completing 20 of 28 for 223 yards and a touchdown, while running for 156 yards and a score.

North Carolina (7-1) was also rewarded for a big win in Week 9.

The Tar Heels were 26-19 winners at then-No. 23 Pittsburgh last Thursday night.

Dropping the biggest this week was Duke, following their unfortunate 30-27 defeat to Miami (FL).
