ESPN3 Schedule Australian Open 2017 Live Stream: Day 3

MELBOURNE, Australia – Order of play and live ESPN3 schedule for the games streaming on Day 3 at Australian Open 2017 on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Visit http://espn3.com for full ESPN3 matches.

The schedule also includes matches playing on the main show courts at Melbourne Park on Wednesday, with the third day’s opening play on the ESPN3 schedule starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Defending champion and No. 1 Angelique Kerber of Germany will take on compatriot Carina Witthoeft in the second round at Rod Laver Arena.

Kerber made a shaky start to the defense of her Australian Open title against Lesia Tsurenko on Monday and will look to improve her overall performance in the second round on Day 3.

“It’s always tough for everybody to get the rhythm and at the start of the tournament, especially a grand slam, the first grand slam of the year,” said Kerber after being made to work in her round 1 match.

On the men’s side, world No. 1 Andy Murray of Great Britain will battle against Russian Andrey Rublev looking to draw level with multi-grand slam winner Stefan Edberg with 178 grand slam match wins.

Elsewhere on Day 3, fourth seed Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland will be up against American Steve Johnson at Margaret Court Arena, while the fifth-seeded Kei Nishikori of Japan will be looking for a better performance when he faces Jeremy Chardy of France in round 2.

Also on the men’s side at Australian Open 2017 and streaming live on the ESPN3 schedule is the clash involving Swiss veteran and No. 17 seed Roger Federer against USA’s Noah Rubin.

In other women’s matchups, American seven-time grand slam champion and No. 13 seed Venus Williams takes on Switzerland’s Stefanie Voegele at Rod Laver Arena, while seventh seed Garbine Muguruza of Spain will meet American Samantha Crawford.

No. 11 Elina Svitolina of Ukraine will face USA’s Julia Boserup.
