In Lyon, forward Antoine Griezmann netted a quick second-half brace to lead France to a 2-1 comeback victory over Ireland in the 2016 European Championship round of 16 game on Sunday.
Ireland grabbed a stunning 1-0 lead at Stade de Lyon in just the second-minute of play when Robbie Brady scored from the penalty spot after Paul Pogba fouled Shane Long in the box.
However, Griezmann, who was shifted inside more central to support Olivier Giroud in the attack, scored twice in three minutes to complete the rally.
The Atlético Madrid star man guide home a cross from Bacary Sagna with a header in the 58th before adding a second goal in the 61st, after Giroud held off his marker to knock down a pass into his path.
Ireland was then reduced to 10 players, after defender Shane Duffy was given a straight red card in the 66th for a foul on Griezmann with only the goalkeeper to beat.
His brace in the round of 16 match on Sunday takes Griezmann’s tally to three goals in the tournament.
France will face either England or Iceland in the European Championship quarterfinals.

GERMANY 3, SLOVAKIA, 0 (Boateng 8, Gomez 43, Draxler 63)
Germany cruised to a 3-0 victory over Slovakia 3-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the European Championship on Sunday at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
Goals from Jerome Boateng, Mario Gomez and Julian Draxler sealed the win for the World Cup winners who produced their best performance at Euro 2016.
Boateng opened the scoring for Germany in the eighth minute when the centre-back scored with a nice finish from outside the penalty area with his right foot from a ball that was cleared off a corner kick.
Gomez made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute when he guided home from close range, following a pass from Draxler, who used a bit a of trickery to get to the byline before delivering a cross.
Draxler added the third goal for Germany with a volley in the 63rd minute, following a header from Mats Hummels off a corner.
Up next for Germany is a quarterfinal clash with either Spain or Italy in the in Bordeaux on Saturday.
BELGIUM 4, HUNGARY 0 (Alderweireld 10, Batshuayi 78, Hazard 80, Carrasco 90+1)
Belgium hammered Hungary 4-0 in its European Championship round of 16 game on Sunday.
Toby Alderweireld opened the scoring for the Belgians, with a wonderful header off a Kevin De Bruyne’s free kick in the 10th minute, as the score at halftime was 1-0.
Following the interval, substitute Michy Batshuayi added a second in the 78th, Chelsea forward Hazard scored a third two minutes later before Yannick Carrasco finished off the scoring in injury time.
Belgium will next face Wales in the quarterfinals on Friday in Lille.
