PARIS, Sporting Alert – Match schedule for Euro 2016 round of 16 is now confirmed and below is a list of all the matchups, game times, places and venues for each contest.

The tournament will resume from a two-day break on Saturday, 25 June with three games, followed by three more on Sunday, 26 June and the final two on Monday, 27 June.

Without a doubt, the highlighted fixture of the round of 16 will be on Monday, when Italy and two-time defending champion Spain battles in Toulouse.

Spain slipped up in its final group match and was beaten 2-1 by Croatia, which placed Vicente del Bosque’s side on the toughest side of the bracket.

If they are to retain the title, the Sergio Ramos captained team may very well need to get past the likes of Germany and the host nation France.

Another anticipated round of 16 clash is expected to come from Lens, where Croatia and Portugal battle on Saturday.

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to form when netting a brace in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Hungary in the group stage, and the Real Madrid forward will be hoping to extend that form in knockout play.

At the same time, though, his club teammate, and star midfielder Luka Modric has been just as impressive in his two outings at the tournament, and he is expected to be back for the next phase of the competition, after missing the win over Spain with an injury.

In other round of 16 clashes, France will take on Republic of Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland will go head-to-head, England set a date with the impressive Iceland, Hungary is expected to be a handful for the inconsistent Belgium, while World Cup champion Germany tackles Slovakia and Switzerland face-off with Poland.
