(Sporting Alert) — Poland coach Franciszek Smuda will get one chance to see all, if not all his players one very last time before naming his final squad for the EURO 2012 tournament.
Poland will take on Slovakia tonight in what should be a very keen contest between the southern neighbours.
Amongst the starters for the Poles are Arsenal FC first choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and Borussia Dortmund top scorer and center Robert Lewandowski.
Poland will take on Greece, Russia and Czech Republic in Group A of the EURO championships and Lewandowski, who scored 22 goals in Dortmund’s Bundesliga title winning campaign this season, is looking forward to playing at home.
“For every player this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, a tournament like this in your country,” Lewandowski told UEFA.com.
“I hope that for the Polish players and fans this creates unforgettable emotions and will be a great experience.”
Napoli playmaking attacker Marek Hamsik is expected to carry the attacking for the Slovakia team.
