MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) – Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has recalled Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Young to his starting team for the Barclays Premier League game against Reading.
Young came off the bench and was a below par in the win over West Ham United in midweek, but the boss has decided to keep faith in the England international.
Ferdinand was rested for the contest, but returns to partner Jonny Evans in the heart of the defense.
Anderson, Micheal Carrick and Daren Fletcher all start as well, with Anders Lindegaard preferred to David de Gea in goal again.
As expected, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie continue their partnership up front, with Javier Hernandez back on the bench with Ryan Giggs and Danny Welbeck.
