(Sporting Alert) — Fernando Torres will make his first start of the pre-season for Chelsea this afternoon when the Barclays Premier League side tackle Brighton & Hove Albion in another away warm-up game.
The Spanish forward made a substitution appearance in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to AC Milan in the last encounter and has been given the chance to start up front for Romelu Lukaku.
Also starting the game is summer signing Eden Hazard, who will make his first appearance on English soil since joining the club.
John Terry, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard and Michael Essien are also amongst the senior players in the Chelsea starting XI for the match.
Meanwhile, Marko Marin will miss out with a slight knock, while David Luiz, John Mikel Obi, join Lukaku on the bench.
