Florida Is No. 1 In USA Today Coaches Poll Baseball Preseason Rankings

MIAMI, Fla. – Florida baseball team has been selected No. 1 in the USA Today Coaches Poll preseason ranking on Thursday, the latest release said. The Gators previously grabbed the No. 1 spot by D1Baseball.com, Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America and Perfect Game.

MIAMI, Fla. – Florida baseball team has been selected No. 1 in the USA Today Coaches Poll preseason ranking on Thursday, the latest release said.

The Gators, who previously grabbed the No. 1 spot by D1Baseball.com, Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America and Perfect Game, received 26 of the 31 first-place votes.

Florida won the program’s first national title last season and ended with an overall 52-19 record. UF has also made six College World Series appearances in the past eight years under head coach Kevin O’Sullivan.

Oregon State picked up four first-place votes in second place, while Texas Tech had the other vote for first-place in third spot.

TCU and Florida State completed the Top 5.

Meanwhile, Arkansas in sixth place is followed by North Carolina, Kentucky, LSU and Vanderbilt in the Top 10.

Rounding out the Top 15 are Texas A&M, Cal State Fullerton, Louisville, UCLA and Mississippi State, while Stanford sits at No. 16 and is followed by Dallas Baptist, Virginia, Mississippi and Texas in the Top 20.

The next five is completed by Clemson at No. 16, Houston, South Alabama, Miami and North Carolina State.
