LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Ex-Liverpool forward Fernando Torres starts against his former team, while ex-Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is on the bench against his for today’s Barclays Premier League clash at Anfield.

Rafa Benitez, the former Reds boss, has decided to play Torres in his starting team today with Demba Ba sitting on the bench.

But Benitez did make three adjustments to the team that beat Fulham 3-0 in midweek, with John Terry, Frank Lampard and Victor Moses replaced by right-back Cesar Azpilicueta, holding midfielder John Mikel Obi and attacking playmaker Oscar.

Meanwhile, manager Brendon Rodgers has decided to leave Sturridge out of the starting team against his former club and replaced him with Stewart Downing in his only change from the side which played to a disappointing 0-0 draw with Reading.
