Oakland, California (Sporting Alert) — Boris Diaw will start on the bench tonight for the San Antonio Spurs in tonight’s Games of their Western Conference semi-final clash with the Golden State Warriors here in Oakland.
Tiago Splitter has returned from an ankle injury and will start at the Center position, while Tim Duncan, who initially was supposed to be on the bench, starts in the forward position alongside the impressive Kawhi Leonard, who had a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds Game 2 defeat.
Tony Parker and Danny Green also start for San Antonio who will be hoping to regain home court advantage after losing Game 2 in the series.
Parker, according coach Gregg Popovich will get a little more rest tonight after playing back-to-back 40-minutes in the last two games.
Tracy McGrady is again active although he didn’t feature in the 91-100 defeat in the last outing.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will again lead the Golden State Warriors’ attack with Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli starting as well.
“We’re in the driver’s seat right now. We control our own destiny. I feel like this is our time,” said Thompson, who scored a game high 34 points and 14 rebounds in Game 2 victory.
“We put in so much work and it’s paying off. And it’s just beginning. We’ve got to stay humble.”
