LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Arsenal boys delivered on the day and Gunners shoot down a very sluggish Liverpool side 2-0 at Anfield in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.
Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla were the goal scorers for Arsene Wenger’s side, which finally got off the mark in the new season, and is yet to concede a goal.
Podolski finished off a pass from Abou Diaby to give Arsenal the lead in the 31st minute, while Cazorla blasted home from another mistake by Pepe Reina in the 68th minute.
Liverpool side was handy criticized for the performance at home, but two players, captain Steven Gerrard, who contributed to giving away the opening goal and striker Luis Suarez – were blasted for their individual outings, which only heaped more pressure on new boss Brendon Rodgers.
