SPLIT (Sporting Alert) — Wesley Sneijder was amongst the starters for Inter Milan for tonight’s third round qualifying game in the UEFA Europa League against Hajduk Split at the Stadion Poljud.
The Dutchman has been linked with several moves this summer, including to Real Madrid and Manchester United, but will play his part for Inter Milan in tonight’s game, while his contract is still with the Serie A club.
Manager Andrea Stramaccioni named a strong side for the clash, which also includes Argentine international Diego Milito and he said he wants to start positively.
“We’re taking it very seriously because we need to put in a good performance, not only for morale but for the competition itself,” Stramaccioni said.
Meanwhile Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has joined that team at stadium to give his support.
