(Sporting Alert) — Javier Hernandez and Robin van Persie will lead the Manchester United attack with Wayne Rooney out of today’s Barclays Premier League clash at Norwich City.
Rooney picked up an injury in United’s win over Aston Villa and was doubtful for the contest. In the end the coaching staff has decided not to take any risk with the England international, especially with Hernandez in such great form.
Van Persie was also suffering from a problem in the week, but passed a fitness test and is safe to start. Anders Lindegaard replaces David de Gea in goal with the Spanish international not even on the bench.
Chris Small and Rio Ferdinand continue to be the starters at center-back, while Ryan Giggs starts for Paul Scholes in midfield. Tom Cleverley, Anderson, Danny Welbeck and Daren Fletcher are amongst the substitutes.
Meanwhile, Norwich midfielder Alex Tettey has recovered in time from a back injury and starters for the hosts.
