OKLAHOMA CITY, Sporting Alert – Watch video highlights of the NBA record breaking performance from Klay Thompson for the Warriors in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals between the Warriors and the Thunder on Saturday (28). Game 6 Box Scores

With his fellow backcourt partner Stephen Curry struggling to make his shots in the early part of the game, Thompson took over to hit some big shots on his way to scoring a playoffs career-best 41 points for Golden State in the 108-101 victory over Oklahoma City on the road.

The All-Star guard connected on a playoff-record 11 3-pointers, including 5 of 6 in a very busy fourth quarter where he scored 19 points, and the defending champions outscored their rivals 33-18 in the last period to setup the win and forced a seventh game in the Western Conference finals.

Thompson also made 7 of his 10 attempts from long-range in the second half, as Golden State clean up a second quarter 13 point deficit to seal a vital win and extend their season for at least one more game.

“Steph told me before I went out in the fourth, `This is your time,”‘ Thompson said. “`You know, put on a show out there and have fun.’

“I took those words to heart, and I just tried to be aggressive.”

The Warriors trailed the Thunder by five points going into the fourth quarter and that deficit increased to eight points with 9:04 left in the game.

However, the belief and confidence never dropped.

“We’ve got a lot of belief and a lot of heart, and we’ve given ourselves a chance to win this series,” said Curry, who scored 29 points, including knocking down a 3-pointer to pull the Warriors within, at 97-96, with 3:58 left in the contest.

“That’s all we could ask for. There’s obviously a lot of excitement, but we still have one job to do.”

Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green is anticipating a very difficult Game 7 at Oracle Arena on Monday night.

“To be in this situation – people were doubting us,” Green told reporters. “It will be the hardest game of our lives.

“It will be way harder than this game. Going back home, everybody will think, `Oh, it’s done.’

“It will be way harder. But if we come out and do what we did and stick to the game plan, we’ll be fine.”
