Suns 125, Warriors 113 FINAL SCORE: The Phoenix Suns were able to snap their six-game losing streak in style on Monday night, as they defeated the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco. [Box Score]
The injury-plagued Suns were led by Mikal Bridges, who had a team-high 26 points, while former Golden State player Damion Lee celebrated his ring ceremony with 22 points of his own in his first game back at Chase Center since winning the title.
The game was also notable for the return of Stephen Curry, who had been out for 11 games with a dislocated shoulder. Curry came on strong late in the game, hitting five 3-pointers and finishing with 24 points.
Klay Thompson led all scorers with 29 points for the Warriors, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Suns’ dominance.
The Suns shot an impressive 41-90 (45.6%) from the field and 45.2% from 3-point range, with Duane Washington Jr. scoring 21 points and hitting 5 of 9 3-pointers, Dario Saric scoring 19 points, pulling down 9 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists.
Torrey Craig had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds and adding two blocks.
The Warriors struggled from the field, shooting only 38.5% and 37.5% from long range. Jordan Poole had a good game off the bench with 27 points and Andrew Wiggins contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Andre Iguodala was ejected from the game with 4:30 left in the 4th quarter.
With this win, the Suns improve to 21-21 on the season and will look to continue their momentum on Wednesday night when they travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets. The Warriors, on the other hand, will look to bounce back when they hit the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night.
