LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Newcastle United stunned Chelsea 2-0 in the Barclays Premier League at Stamford Bridge to keep their Champions League hopes alive on Wednesday night.

Papiss Cisse scored both, including an incredible reverse-banana finish from outside the area, which curled over the head of Petr Cech and into the top corner in stoppage time play.
Cisse had earlier given Newcastle United the lead in the 19th minute of play when he smashed powerfully past Cech into the far top corner of the goal.
The win saw Alan Pardew’s men staying in the hunt for a place in Europe – with the Champions League competition the heaviest on their radar.
“I’m immensely proud of the players tonight because Wigan (on Saturday) was such a big disappointment to us all,” Pardew told Newcastle official website at www.nufc.co.uk.
“We had a discussion about it, we sorted a few things out, changed our shape and the two strikers had to come and work as midfield players as well as being strikers.
“Their work-rate was phenomenal, but the goals – they change games. His first one was special, the second one was even better.
“There’s nothing you can do about that. As soon as he hit it Petr Cech (Chelsea goalkeeper) was struggling and it nestled in the far corner.”
