SANTIAGO, Chile (Sporting Alert) — Lionel Messi will lead his Argentina team out against Chile in a very tricky 2014 World Cup qualifier clash on Tuesday night in Santiago.
“Chile will be terribly difficult rivals to get past because of the team they have,” Messi told reporters ahead of the clash.
“They lost the last game and are forced to win.”
Also starting tonight for Argentina is Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuaín, who was doubtful for the match after picking up a hip injury against Uruguay.
Manchester City forward Sergio Agüero will play alongside Messi and Higuaín, while Ángel Di María, Fernando Gago, Pablo Zabaleta and Javier Mascherano all start as well.
Barcelona forward Alexis Sánchez will lead Chile attack, alongside Eduardo Vargas and Sebastián Pinto.
