Both teams head into this encounter in a confident mood after a pair of impressive performances in their respective Final Four semifinal games on Thursday night. Texas rallied from a set down to get past San Diego 3-1 in the first semis before Louisville battled out an exciting 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers in the night’s second semifinal.

The Longhorns, the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, are set to make their ninth appearance in the NCAA championship match and sixth in the last 14 years. In the meantime, Louisville is making its first National Championship in school history and will be hoping for a positive result at the end of the game at the CHI Health Center Arena.
Texas vs Louisville College Volleyball Head-to-Head Record
Ahead of today’s battle, Texas owns a 3-1 record all-time versus Louisville, with the Cardinals winning the last meeting in the 2019 NCAA Regional Semifinal. Prior to the 2019 clash, the Longhorns last played Louisville in 2012 and won in five sets before going on to win the National Championship in Louisville, Ky.
Both Texas and Louisville have super talents entering this contest with most of the attention for the Longhorns expected to be on Logan Eggleston, who was recently named AVCA National Player of the Year. Madisen Skinner, Saige Ka’aha’aina-Torres, Asjia O’Neal and Molly Phillips are also featured players for the Longhorns.
Meanwhile, for the Cardinals, the likes of Claire Chaussee, an AVCA First-Team All-American, Anna DeBeer, Elena Scott, Phekran Kong and Amaya Tillman are expected to lead the way on both the offensive and defensive side.
