LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Nicklas Bendtner has justified Arsene Wenger handing him a starting place as he’s given Arsenal a 1-0 lead early in their English Premier League clash against Hull City at Emirates Stadium.

Bendtner was given the nob over regular starter Olivier Giroud and Denmark international took it with both hands after heading the English Premier League leaders into the lead with just two-minutes on the clock.

A great cross from Carl Jenkinson was headed home from close range.

It was the first time Bendtner was starting in the EPL for Arsenal since March 2011.

In another early score update at half-time, Chelsea lead Sunderland 2-1 after falling behind early, Liverpool is outpowering Norwich, 3-0, while Aston Villa leads Southampton 1-0 at the interval.

In the two later kick-offs, Manchester City leads West Brom 2-0, with the on form Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure being the early goal scorers for the Light Blues.
