MANCHESTER, Sporting Alert – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has indirectly informed Manchester United that he would be willing to join the English Premier League club this summer, but only if current boss Louis Van Gaal leaves.

This is according to Sky Sports News HQ which is also reporting that several clubs have been showing serious interest in the Sweden international who is free to link up with a team of his choice at the end of the season.

Ibrahimovic is still weighing his options, as his contract with French champions Paris Saint-Germain will run out this summer, but it is understood he has a willingness to join Manchester United.

It was only recently the goalscoring frontman told a press conference that if he decides to move to the English Premier League, he wouldn’t be short of options.

This triggered several media outlets, including Sky Sports, to link the forward with a move to the English Premier League and according to those reports, the Red Devils are one of the top clubs in hot pursuit of his signature.

However, Sky Sports is also reporting that Ibrahimovic, who apparently has a very poor working relationship with Van Gaal since his time at Ajax, “has reservations” about going through another stint with the Dutchman, and would rather side-step any opportunity to move to Old Trafford with him in charge.

Ibrahimovic is understood to be interested in a move to Old Trafford, believing it is a stage on which he can still perform at a high level for another two years, although that would depend on a change in manager.

Manchester United are in need of a quality centre-forward to help fix the club’s lack of goals under Van Gaal this season and Ibrahimovic, who has scored over 100 goals for PSG and thinks he still has two good years left in him, would be the ideal “free agent” for the many time English Premier League champions.

Following Sunday’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, Man United now find themselves four points off Champions League football for next season.

At the moment, finishing fourth looks highly unlikely, seeing that Manchester City, who occupy that slot a the present time, also have a superior goal-difference over their rivals.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that there are big offers for Ibrahimovic in the Chinese Super League.

According to Sky Sports sources, an unnamed Chinese Super League club has placed an offer worth £56m on the table for the services of Ibrahimovic over two seasons.

It is unlikely that the former Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus striker will consider such a move as he still wants to play at the highest level.
