Auburn, AL (Sporting Alert) — Jamaica’s Kerron Stewart won the women’s 100m dash at the 2012 Auburn Tiger Track Classic held at the Hutsell-Rosen Track on Saturday.

Stewart, the reigning Olympic silver medallist from Beijing, China in 2008, clocked a quick time of 11.18 (0.8) seconds on her way to winning the first heat in the timed finals event.

Finishing second was Chastity Riggien, who ran 11.34secs, while Auburn’s sophomore V’Alonee Robinson was third in 11.63.

Keenan Brock of Auburn won the men’s race in a time of 10.24 (1.2), beating Trinidad and Tobago’s Marc Burns, who ran 10.35.

In third was Jamal Rolle and he clocked a time of 10.38.

American Manteo Mitchell won the men’s 400m dash in 45.25 over Akino Ming of Jamaica and Johnson C. Smith, who ran 45.81 and the Bahamas’ Arvad Moncur, who ran 45.86.
