MIAMI, FL (Sporting Alert) — LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for 62 points and the Miami Heat defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 107-97 at the American Airlines Arena on Sunday.
James scored 13 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to go along with his seven rebounds, four assists and three assists in the win for Miami, which have now knocked off both Los Angeles teams in back-to-back contests.
James has now scored at least 30 points in the last five games.
“I say this to Miami fans, don’t take it for granted. He’s making greatness look easy,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said about James
Wade finished with 30 points, Mario Chalmers had 13, while Chris Bosh collected a double/double of 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Heat, which have now won five in a row and all four of its last four home games.
Kobe Bryant paced the LA Lakers with 28 points, nine assists and six rebounds, while Earl Clark had 18 points and nine boards in the defeat.
Steve Nash and Dwight Howard both added 15 points for the Lakers, which have dropped two of its last three games.
“Turnovers were the problem in the last nine minutes of the game. Again, you have to give them (the Heat) credit,” said Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni.
“We just didn’t make the right play at the right time. They did.”
