Japan v Jordan: Shinji Kagawa starts for leaders – Live

AMMAN (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa is among the starters for Japan in today’s World Cup 2014 Asia Group B qualifier against Jordan at King Abdullah International Stadium.

Kagawa has been in good touch since returning from an injury and Japan will be hoping the playmaker can transfer his club form over to the national setup.

Shinji Okazaki, Yasuyuki Konno and captain Makoto Hasebe has also started alongside Kagawa, while Ryoichi Maeda and Maya Yoshida lead the attacking line.

Meanwhile, Hasebe has warned his team to be cautious about playing away to Jordan, but added that they will be going into the game confident of coming away with all three points.

He said: “We all know that such away games in Asia aren’t easy, but we want to play with strong determination to get [qualification] decided [Tuesday].”
