MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Brazil attacking midfielder Kaka says he intends to stay at Real Madrid, despite several reports linking him away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Kaka is supposedly on a short list of players heading for Real Madrid departure this summer, with media reports suggesting that he was looking to move back to play in Brazil.
However, the 31-year-old, who sees his former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti recently taking over from Jose Mourinho at the Spanish La Liga club, says he has no intentions of leaving this summer.
“I intend to stay at Real Madrid,” he said. “I am still under contract with Real Madrid.
“There’s a new manager and once he gets to work, we’ll sit down and exchange ideas.”
Kaka is also hoping to regain his form in an attempt to get a recall to the Brazil team for the 2014 World Cup.
He said: “There is still over a year to go before the World Cup and the season has just started.
“I truly hope to play in this World Cup,” he added.
