VALENCIA (Sporting Alert) — Brazilian playmaker Kaka was left out of the Real Madrid squad to face Valencia in Wednesday night’s Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg clash at Mestalla.
Kaka, who is linked with a January transfer move back to his former club AC Milan, is available again after suspension, but was not selected by coach Jose Mourinho in his 20-man squad.
Real Madrid enter the contest with a comfortable 2-0 lead from the first leg, while still buzzing with confidence after beating their opponents 5-0 in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday.
Mourinho’s Real Madrid side has been red hot in recent outings after collecting four wins in their last six games.
The defending Spanish LA Liga champions also have an impressive scoring record in recent game against Valencia, after hammering 19 goals on their last four visits away from home.
Valencia head into the contest with even bigger headaches after Spanish striker Roberto Soldado was ruled out due to a thigh injury.
David Albelda (calf) and Dani Parejo (fractured thumb) will also miss the game, but midfielder Sergio Canales and right-back Joao Pereira, who returns from a one-match ban are available again.
Mourinho is expected to make changes to his starting team, with Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, Ricardo Carvalho and Jose Callejo all pushing for starting places.
Keep your eyes on Cristiano Ronaldo, who has odds of 4/9 to score and of course 8/1 for a hattrick. Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon are good backs to score tonight.
