MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Kaka was named in Real Madrid’s 22 member squad for the opening Spanish La Liga game against Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

The Brazilian playmaker has been the subject of a transfer move away from the Spanish champions all summer, but still remains a part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

And even though he has been linked with an exit, Mourinho still claims that he would love for the Kaka to stay at the club, as he still has him in his plans for the future.

Meanwhile, Nuri Şahin, whose future looks doubtful with the champs and defender Ricardo Carvalho, have not been called up for the game.

Argentine international Angel Di Maria, who had a fabulous preseason is hoping the team will continue to play well.

“I think the team is very strong. We have finished the pre-season in great shape and full of enthusiasm,” Di Maria told Marca.

“The manager has told us the work we’ve done this summer has been incredible and the team really believes in itself.

“We have the capability to go places, to win more titles. We get better with each season and I hope this year we’ll go a step further.

“On the back of the way we’ve worked and with the players we have in the team, I think there aren’t any limits.”
