MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is backing Kaka to make a return to his first-team rotation after watching the Brazilian performance against Millonarios Bogota in Wednesday night’s XXXIV Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu game.
The former AC Milan playmaker had been out of favour with the Spanish champions in recent times, but Mourinho, though not getting carried, says his three-goal outing in Real Madrid’s 8-0 win Wednesday puts him back on track to play more frequently.
“Kaka played well, as did the whole team as we maintained a solid structure,” the boss said. “We worked well.
“When players show motivation and ambition the coach has more confidence and can play them in official games. Kaka, and the others, did enough to put their names in my head.”
The 30-year-old has been linked with a January move away from the Bernabeu to get more playing time and force his way back into the Brazilian national team.
He was linked this week with a move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
