LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Kaka has been handed a starting place for Brazil in tonight’s football friendly international with Russia here at Stamford Bridge tonight.
The Real Madrid midfield playmaker who started on the bench in the 2-2 draw with Italy last week, comes into the midfield and Chelsea star Oscar, as well as Hernandes and Fernando.
PSG defender Thiago Silva is back in the side after sitting out the game against Italy and he captains the team and partners Chelsea’s David Luiz at center-back.
Also coming in is Real Madrid’s Marcelo, with Dani Alves starting as well.
Hulk, who was very disappointing against Italy has been dropped with head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari opting to go with a 4-4-2 formation.
This means that Fred, who scored the opener last week and Neymar, who set Oscar up for his strike, start in the attack.
Russia coach Fabio Capello, in the meantime, has handed No. 2 Vladimir Gabulov the starting place in goal tonight.
Igor Akinfeev, Yuri Zhirkov, Igor Denisov and lan Dzagoev, who normally start for Capello, are all on the bench tonight.
Russia have won all four of their World Cup 2014 qualifiers, and are yet to concede a goal and scored eight so far. They are seven games undefeated since Capello took over.
The Russians World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland was postponed last week because of a snow.
