NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without star power forward Kevin Love for Sunday’s NBA clash with the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Love, who is averaging 19.6 points and 13.9 rebounds per game was instrumental in the Wolves’ (13-11) win that ended the Oklahoma City Thunder 12-game winning streak on Thursday night, will sit out the game because of an eye injury, the club said.

“Love is dealing with an eye issue and did not travel with the team for Sunday’s game against the Knicks,” a team report revealed.

Love now joins Brandon Roy, who could return later this month, Chase Budinger and Malcolm Lee on the Minnesota Timberwolves injury list.

Budinger and Lee are both out long term with knee injuries with the latter scheduled to miss “an indefinite amount of time” this season.

Timberwolves have won seven of its last 10 games and are buzzing with confidence after beating the Thunder to snap a two game skid Florda-based teams Orlando and Miami earlier in the week.
