OKLAHOMA CITY (Sporting Alert) — Kevin Martin admits he’s enjoying his first season with the Thunder and would welcome the chance to sign a long-term contract to remain in Oklahoma City.
He will become an unrestricted free agent after the season ends and has been repeatedly asked about his future.
It is believed the Thunder wants to hang on to the free scoring player and from all indications, Martin is ready to extend his playing career alongside the likes of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
“I get that question a lot since it’s a contract year,” Martin was quoted as saying on www.hoopsworld.com.
“There are going to be teams interested over the summer, but I’m so happy right now and being with these guys has given me an extra pep in my step.
“It’s just fun being here. It’s a great organization and great guys. I’m happy right now.”
