Paul, who is averaging 16.6 points per game and 9.7 assists per game, will miss the action because of a bruised right kneecap.

Paul had originally picked up the problem in the defeat to the Orlando Magic on Jan. 12 when he clashed knees with J.J. Redick.

The All-Star guard missed three successive games with the injury, but did return in the win over the Washington Wizards last Saturday.

He struggled against the Golden State Warriors in the 106-99 defeat on Monday.

Eric Bledsoe will start the game, while Jamal Crawford is expected to see more minutes.
