LOS ANGELES (Sporting Alert) — The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Chicago Bulls at STAPLES Center this evening with the hope of collecting another win to keep the playoff lights shining.
The game will be broadcast live on ABC, starting at 3:30 ET
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
Last Meeting: LAL 83 loss CHI 95
Series: Bulls have won three straight overall in this series.
The Lakers (32-31) have been having a good run recently and Kobe Bryant will be seeking to keep his teammates confident in the attempt to move up in the standings.
Los Angeles have a 17-10 run in the last 27, including 15 wins in the last 21, and although they would have liked to lose fewer games – can go past Utah into 8th place in the Western Conference with a win on Sunday.
The Chicago Bulls (35-27), still without star point guard Derrick Rose, have won three of the last five games, including a close 89-89 win over the Jazz on Friday night.
The Bulls are still waiting for Rose to be confident enough with his fitness before bringing the former MVP back.
“He’s been cleared to do everything there is,” Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said. “Before he makes the final step, everyone has to get together and sign off.
“That hasn’t happened yet. The most important part of this is that we have to trust Derrick, and I trust him.”
Lakers, in the meantime, have won four of the last five and have won two straight since losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Mar. 5.
