La Liga standings and scores on Feb. 2; Atletico Madrid top standings

MARDID (Sporting Alert) – Atletico Madrid raced to the top of the Spanish La Liga standings on Sunday. The following are the Results and points standings from the La Liga games on Sunday.

Atletico Madrid took advantage of the slip-ups by Barcelona and Real Madrid to go three points clear in the standings with 57 points, following a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad.

On Saturday, Barcelona were stunned 3-2 by Valencia and they missed the chance to go top of the table, while losing grounds on Atletico.

Real Madrid also slipped up after they were held 1-1 by Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are on 54 points, with Athletic Bilbao sitting in fourth place on 43pts.
