La Liga Top Scorers – Costa ahead of Messi, Ronaldo – Oct. 7

MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Atletico Madrid’s impressive season has been inspired by a free scoring striker, Diego Costa, who leads the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the goalscoring department in the Spanish La Liga.

Brazilian-born Costa, who has been backed for a call up to the Spanish national squad, is the La Liga top scorer on Sunday with 10 goals, two more than Barcelona’s Messi, who is currently out with a thigh injury and three more than Real Madrid forward Ronaldo, who has seven.

Barcelona and Spain forward Pedro and Rodri (Almeria) are both on five goals, while the likes of Isco (Real Madrid), Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona), Giovani Dos Santos (Villarreal) are all on four goals so far this season.
