Lakers 112, beaten by Rockets 125 – Recap


HOUSTON (Sporting Alert) – The Los Angeles Lakers dismal form in recent games continued on Wednesday after they were beaten 125-112 by the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center.

James Harden led the way with 31 points, nine assists and six rebounds, as the Houston Rockets beat the Lakers for the fourth straight meeting.

Chandler Parsons had 20 points and five rebounds, while Jeremy Lin finished with 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Rockets (21-14), which extended its winning streak to five games.

Metta World Peace paced the Lakers (15-19) with 24 points and six boards, with Kobe Bryant adding 20 points, seven assists and three steals and Steve Nash collecting 16 points and 10 helpers in the defeat.

The defeat saw the Lakers, who played without star forward Pau Gasol, star center Dwight Howard and Jordan Hill (all injured) – dropping its fourth game.

Houston were winning for the eighth time after scoring more than 120 points this season. They are 7-1 when doing so.

Also adding to the tally for the Rockets were Carlos Delfino, who scored 19 points and Toney Douglas, who finished with 11.

Darius Morris (12) and Robert Sacre (10) were the starters for the injure Gasol and Howard in the Lakers opening line-up.
