Lakers, Clippers, Thunder all lose, Nebraska in the Big Ten title game, LSU keeps battling

(Sporting Alert) — The Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder and LA Lakers – were all handed defeats in the NBA on Friday night.

The packed night of action after the Thanksgiving break, saw the Lakers losing 106-98 to an on form Memphis Grizzles side, which had all five of its starters scoring in double digits.

Kobe Bryant top all scorers with 30 points, but his effort was not enough to save the Lakers, which dropped to its second successive defeat after losing to the Kings.

James Harden scored 33 points and nine assists and Chandler Parsons supported with a career high 31 points for the Houston Rockets dump the Knicks 131-103 on a night when Camerlo Anthony scored 37 points and pulled down four rebounds for the losing team.

Omer Asik pulled down 14 rebounds in the win for the Rockets (6-7). The New York Knicks, with the defeat, fell to 8-3 on the season.

Boston Celtics held off a very determined Oklahoma City Thunder side to registered a much needed 108-100 victory. Jeff Green had 17 points off the bench for the Celtics against his former side, while Russell Westbrook had 26 points eight assists and seven rebounds for the Thunder.

The Clippers also fell on Friday night. Brook Lopez scored 26 points for the Brooklyn Nets to beat the Clippers 86-76.

College Basketball action saw No. 5 Duke beat VCU 67-58, while there were wins also for No. 3 Ohio State, who picked up an easy 91-45 win over Missouri-Kansas City and No. 2 Louisville beat No. 13 Missouri, 81-64.

In College Football action, No. 14 Nebraska earned a berth in the Big Ten championship game with a 13-7 victory over Iowa Friday. No. 7 LSU also stayed on course to play for the SEC title with a 20-13 win over Arkansas.
