LOS ANGELES — LeBron James will not be playing in Wednesday’s game against the Heat due to illness, according to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.
James had originally been listed as questionable due to an ankle injury, but it appears that an illness has now forced him to sit out. This is a significant blow for the Lakers, who are already without star center Anthony Davis.
James has been playing at an incredibly high level lately, averaging 29 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game. In his absence, the Lakers will turn to players like Dennis Schroder, Patrick Beverley, Russell Westbook and Thomas Bryant to try and secure a win against the Heat.
It’s worth noting that the Lakers just completed a five-game road trip, going 3-2, with one of the defeats coming at the hands of the Heat. The Lakers will also be without guard Lonnie Walker IV, who is dealing with a sore left knee and will be out for a third consecutive game.
James has been performing at an extremely high level lately, averaging 29.0 points per game, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists.
Tonight’s NBA clash with the Miami Heat will tip off at 10:00 pm EST at the crypto.com Arena and tevelised live on ESPN.
