SANTA CLARA, CA, Sporting Alert – The List of teams for the 2016 Copa America, which is being hosted across the United States.

This year’s tournament will run from June 3-26, and will include 16 teams from North, South and Central America.

The knocked out phase of the tourney is between June 16–18, with the quarterfinals, while the semifinal games will be played on June 21 and 22 and the final on June 26.

The Third place playoff match is scheduled for June 25.

Leading the list of teams in this year’s competition are South American giants Brazil and Argentina, while host nation USA and Mexico lead the way for the CONCACAF outfits.

Fans will have the chance to see some of the world’s top players in action, including Lionel Messi, Kaka, Javier Hernandez, Luis Suarez, Alexis Sanchez and James Rodriguez, among other mega stars.

Among the early front runners to win this year’s tournament are Argentina, Brazil and Chile, but the likes of Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia and even the United States must not be overlooked.

Meanwhile, in some team updates ahead of the start of the competition, Brazil and Uruguay have both made adjustments to their respective squads.

Brazil revealed that midfielder Rafinha and goalkeeper Ederson will both miss out because of injuries and have been replaced on the roster by Paris Saint-Germain forward Lucas and Gremio’s Marcelo Grohe.

For Uruguay, Independiente midfielder Cristian Rodriguez will also miss the 2016 Copa America because of an injury and will be replaced by defender Diego Laxalt, who plays in the Italian Series A with Genoa.

Tournament host USA and Colombia will kick-start the tournament from Group A on Friday, June 3 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
